Known lovingly as Guruji by his devotees, he left home at age seven to live with Shri Chotelalji Maharaj, his spiritual guru. At 15, he became a Jain muni (monk) in the Swetambar Sthanakvasi sect. Guruji’s life and works emphasized promoting peace and self-knowledge, leaving a lasting legacy. The village where he was born was later renamed Sushilgarh in his honor. He passed away a century ago, remembered as a champion of non-violence and spiritual wisdom.
