The Jain Shwetambar Terapanthi Mahasabha held its 95th annual convention from January 30 to February 2, 2009, in Bidasar (Rajasthan). The three-day program included a Sambodhan Alankaran Samaroh on January 30, 2009, held under the presence of Acharya Shri Mahapragyaji, Yuvacharya Shri Mahashramanji, and Sadhvipramukha Shri Kanakprabhaji. Mahasabha President Shri Jaskaran Chopra expressed gratitude for the event. During the ceremony, 153 individuals or their family members were honored with symbolic awards for their service to society and the religious order. Yuvacharya Shri Mahashramanji stated that those honored by society have increased responsibility and should use their strength to elevate society. Acharya Shri Mahapragyaji noted that the Mahasabha acts as a donor by giving respect, not just money. A Milan Goshti (gathering) was held on the evening of January 30, where a book introducing the awardees was distributed. Many individuals and families announced donations for Mahasabha activities. On January 31, 2009, a Shreshtha evam Vishisht Sabha Samman Samaroh was held, awarding the Shreshtha Sabha award jointly to the Jain Shwetambar Terapanthi Sabhas of Mumbai and Bangalore, with a prize of Rs. 1,00,000, and the Vishisht Sabha award to the Asind Sabha, with a prize of Rs. 31,000. The 95th Annual General Session took place on February 1, 2009, at Shri Sangh Oswal Panchayat Bhavan, Bidasar. The annual report and financial accounts were presented and approved. The event concluded with recognition of the organizing committee.
