This report describes a national seminar titled ‘The Philosophy in Gujarat (Ten Centuries)’ held from 20–23 February 2009. The event began with an inaugural ceremony presided over by the noted literary figure Dr. Dhirubhai Thaker, who highlighted the importance of studying Gujarat’s philosophical heritage. Scholars from various disciplines presented papers covering Jain, Hindu and modern philosophical developments in the region across a thousand years. Topics included the evolution of metaphysical ideas, the interplay between religious and secular thought and the contributions of lesser‑known philosophers.
