मोहन से मुदित, मुदित से महाश्रमण

Vol. 52 · No. 09September - 2004pp. 37-39Hindi

Summary

Yuvacharya Shri Mahashraman is the ninth Yuvraj of the Terapanth Dharm Sangh, born on May 13, 1962, in Sardarshahr, Rajasthan, to Jhumarmal Ji Dugad and Nemadevi Dugad. Named Mohan, he was the seventh child and youngest son, known for childhood mischief. After his father's sudden death when Mohan was seven, his mother Nemadevi nurtured his spiritual growth. Inspired by saints and his mother, Mohan developed a strong inclination toward renunciation. At age twelve, on May 5, 1974, he took diksha from Muni Sumermal Ji Ladnun under Acharya Tulsi's order, becoming Muni Mudit. Within fifteen years of monkhood, he rose to become the foremost monk in the Sangh. On September 6, 1989, Acharya Tulsi elevated him to the position of Mahashraman. Prior to this, Acharya Tulsi had already engaged him in study, writing, and research after just ten years as a monk. On February 16, 1986, he was appointed as an intimate associate of then-Yuvacharya Mahapragya at Jain Bharti in Udaipur, and on May 14 of the same year, he was made group leader. After Acharya Tulsi's passing, Acharya Mahapragya announced the Yuvacharya appointment on September 14, 1997, in Gangashahar, before a crowd of nearly one lakh people. This pre-announcement of the date and time was unprecedented in Terapanth history. Yuvacharya Mahashraman is known for his selflessness, never desiring position or prestige. He emphasizes service to the Sangh, society, and nation. He is characterized by a fair complexion, small stature, lotus-petal-like eyebrows, bright black eyes with a bright white periphery, upright ears, a fearless gait like an elephant, agility like a cheetah, and stability like a yogi.

Conclusion

The document underscores the profound spiritual and organizational implications of Yuvacharya Mahashraman's journey from a playful child to a disciplined ascetic and designated leader of the Terapanth Dharma Sangh. His unwavering commitment to rigorous penance, self-awareness, and service, rather than personal ambition for position or prestige, sets a powerful precedent for the community. The outcome is a reinforced model of leadership rooted in humility, dedication, and complete submission to the guru's guidance, ensuring the continuity of the sect's traditions. This narrative not only celebrates his personal achievements but also serves as an inspirational blueprint for followers, emphasizing that true success and spiritual elevation arise from relentless effort, inner purification, and a focus on collective welfare over individual acclaim.
