Summary

The 147th Marayada Mahotsav of the Terapanth Dharma Sangh was held from February 8 to 10, 2011, at the Yuva Bharati Stadium in Rajaldesar, Churu district. The three-day event was preceded by programs of the Jain Shwetambar Terapanthi Mahasabha on February 6 and 7, and followed by the inauguration of several buildings at the Jain Vishva Bharati campus in Ladnun on February 20. This was the first Marayada Mahotsav after Acharya Shri Mahashramanji assumed leadership of the Sangh. On the first day, Acharya Mahashramanji established the Marayada Patra and announced the chaturmas for various service centers. He emphasized the importance of service performed with a sense of duty and compassion, stating that such service leads to karmic shedding. He also recalled the teachings of his predecessors, Acharya Tulsi and Acharya Mahapragya. The day included the presentation of awards for best sabha and best gyanashala, and the honoring of outstanding teachers and students. On the second day, observed as Abhivandana Diwas, monks and nuns expressed their reverence for Acharya Mahashramanji through poems, songs, and speeches, reaffirming their commitment to follow his guidance. Throughout the event, Acharya Mahashramanji stressed the importance of strict discipline, adherence to the Sangh's traditions, and a clear commitment to spiritual practice. He also demonstrated humility by requesting that his name not be included in the traditional vandana. The event concluded with a strong message of dedication to conduct, discipline, and spiritual practice.
