अपूर्व रात : विलक्षण वात

Vol. 61 · No. 01January - 2013pp. 45-46Hindi

Summary

On 17 February 1987, in Satada village, doctors Shyamsukha and Vinayakia examined the author and discussed his health. They strongly advised changes to his lifestyle, including limiting walking to under five kilometers, reducing pace, avoiding midday walks after meals, staying away from sand, keeping companions at a distance to avoid dust, using a plastic nasal filter, avoiding stress and stairs, resting fully for at least an hour after meals, and handing over administrative duties to Mahapragyaji. They also cautioned against changing medications without consulting a postgraduate doctor. The author listened without reaction, feeling determined and unaffected. He lay down but could not sleep, turning over repeatedly without concern. Around 9:30 PM, while fully awake, he felt an urge to sit up. Opening his eyes, he saw nothing unusual and closed them again, but the feeling persisted. He sat up and began chanting the Namaskar Mahamantra, becoming absorbed and experiencing extraordinary joy. He recalled verses about the wise being awake while others sleep. He then shifted to meditation, focusing on his breath, and his mind settled deeply. After an hour, he opened his eyes to a silent room. Monk Balchand asked about his health, but the author wished to continue meditating. Sitting in Padmasana, he entered a state of complete stillness, experiencing an indescribable joy that still gives him goosebumps. He felt an invisible force supporting him and heard inner words urging him to solve the world's problems. He felt light, as if rising. He called for Mahapragyaji, who reassured him that his accumulated powers were manifesting. They meditated together until about 2:30 AM. The author did not sleep but felt no fatigue. The next day, walking eight kilometers felt easy, and he remained cheerful and light. He considers this an extraordinary miracle, unlike any he had experienced before.

Conclusion

The implications of this document center on a profound personal transformation, where a night of sleeplessness in Satada village became a catalyst for a deep spiritual breakthrough. The author’s initial health concerns and prescribed restrictions were overshadowed by an unexpected, blissful state of meditation, leading to a direct experience of joy and lightness. This event suggests that physical limitations and external advice can be transcended through inner focus and surrender. The outcome was a renewed sense of purpose and a conviction that human problems can be resolved, as affirmed by an inner voice. The experience left the author feeling energized and free from fatigue, marking a shift from worry to a serene, empowered state, with a lasting memory of that extraordinary night.
