Summary

The document is an editorial from the managing committee of Shri Digambar Jain Atishay Kshetra Shri Mahavirji. The committee allocates funds provided by devout travelers not only for essential amenities, new construction, enhancing temple art, and supporting religious events like festivals and worship, but also for the promotion of Jain religion, philosophy, and literature. It actively spends on creating modern literature and publications. To this end, the committee established the Jain Vidya Sansthan, which, along with the affiliated Apshna Sahitya Akademi, works systematically in this field. Through the research journal *Jain Vidya*, scholarly essays on the personalities and works of famous ancient Jain acharyas have been published. Previous special issues have covered figures like Svayambhu, Pushpadanta, Dhanapala, Vira, Muninayanandi, Kanakamara, Yogindu, and Acharya Kundakunda. This current issue is dedicated to Acharya Pujyapada. He was a highly accomplished, talented, and spiritually advanced acharya, counted among the great scholars like Samantabhadra and Siddhasena. Jinasena, the author of the *Adipurana*, praised him as the "Tirthankara of the poet community." Acharya Pujyapada enriched the literary treasury by composing numerous authoritative texts in Sanskrit on various subjects. His *Samadhisataka* serves as a guiding light for seekers, poetically explaining the process of transforming the external self into the inner self to attain the supreme state. His commentary on the *Tattvarthasutra*, known as *Sarvarthasiddhi* or *Tatparyavritti*, is considered the most authoritative. His Sanskrit hymns not only express devotion but also clearly describe the nature of the worshipped. He was also an expert grammarian, and his literary characteristics are considered unparalleled. The editorial expresses happiness in presenting this introduction to the great acharya and hopes this publication will be beneficial and interesting to readers. The issue also includes a small

Conclusion

This document underscores the Jainavidya Sansthan’s commitment to preserving and promoting Jain philosophy, literature, and scholarship. By publishing research on luminaries like Acharya Pujyapad, the institution ensures that ancient wisdom remains accessible and relevant. The detailed exploration of Pujyapad’s contributions—from his commentaries on Tattvarthasutra to his poetic works—highlights the depth of Jain intellectual heritage. The implication is clear: systematic, scholarly efforts can bridge tradition and modernity, fostering both academic interest and spiritual growth. The ongoing publication of special issues and research papers not only honors past acharyas but also inspires future generations. Ultimately, this work reinforces the Sansthan’s role as a custodian of Jain culture, demonstrating how dedicated institutional support can sustain and disseminate profound teachings for contemporary audiences.
