Summary

This Gujarati paper introduces a collection of newly discovered inscriptions from western India. The author provides transcriptions and translations of several copper‑plate and stone inscriptions issued by local rulers, merchants and religious institutions. These records document land grants, temple endowments and genealogical information. Through palaeographic analysis, the article dates the inscriptions to the 12th–14th centuries and compares their script and language with other known records. The author argues that these inscriptions illuminate regional administration, economic exchanges and the spread of Sanskrit and Prakrit in epigraphical practice. Though brief, the notes highlight the importance of meticulous documentation and call for a comprehensive corpus of western Indian inscriptions.

Conclusion

The presentation of these inscriptions underscores how much of regional history remains to be written from epigraphic evidence. The conclusion calls on scholars to publish similar finds quickly and to integrate them with archaeological and literary sources so that the socio‑economic fabric of medieval Gujarat can be reconstructed in greater detail.
