Summary
This note reconstructs the genealogy of the Viṣṇukuṇḍin dynasty, which ruled parts of Andhra and Telangana in the fifth and sixth centuries. The author analyses inscriptions that mention kings such as Madhavavarman I, Madhavavarman II and Vikramaendravarman. By correlating regnal epithets, land grants and donor records, he proposes a revised sequence of rulers and clarifies their familial relationships. The note also discusses the dynasty’s interactions with the Pallavas and Chalukyas.
